Clean lenses with warm water and micro fiber cloths only; use gentle dish soap sparingly when necessary. Avoid standard lens cloths which can lead to micro-scratches. Do not use products with alcohol, as they may damage lens coatings. What is the difference between the SKY and FLT lens? The SKY lens is a scratch-resistant mineral glass lens with exceptional clarity, ideal for airline and biz jet flight conditions. The FLT lens is an ultra lightweight, shatter-resistant lens perfect for aerobatics or open cockpit flying. What does VLT mean? VLT or visual light transmission refers to the percentage of light that passes through a lens. The FAA recommends 15% VLT, similar to our 18%. The darker 9% lens is ideal for flying in bright conditions, whereas the 30% is best for dim cockpits.
